The Cancel Culture Agenda Moves to Target Podcasts
It’s easy to defend your friends and loved one’s speech, but what about the speech of those you don’t agree with, or even hate?
Time after time we have seen the media, academia, government, and Big Tech clamp down on the sliding scale of socially acceptable opinion. Now, what started from the far fringes has now crept (and in some cases sprinted) closer to politically moderate or apathetic Americans who question popular narratives, ask inconvenient questions, or simply want to be left alone to live their lives peacefully.
In 2018, I sounded the alarm amongst the libertarian community to let them know that Cancel Culture wasn’t just aiming at conservatives and Trump supporters in general, that one day, they would come after those that refused to toe the line of allowable opinion. They almost entirely got rid of Alex Jones, a man I often disagree with, and then they entirely de-platformed the previous sitting POTUS, Donald J. Trump.
Now, they are aiming their attention to podcasting apps and directories, one of the few areas of the internet where competing ideas and alternative media sources outside the mainstream can speak freely. According to an op-ed at CNYCentral:
Podcasts suffer from the same misinformation problem as other platforms, said Shane Creevey, head of editorial for Kinzen, a startup created by former Facebook and Twitter executives that offers a disinformation tracker to companies, including some that host or curate podcasts.
Creevey points out that it's harder to analyze misinformation from video and audio than from text. Podcasts can also run for hours, making them difficult to monitor. And podcasting has additional challenges in that there are no reliable statistics on their audience, unlike a YouTube stream, which shows views, or a tweet or Facebook post, which shows likes and shares, Creevey said.
But some argue that tech-company moderation is opaque and inconsistent, creating a new set of problems. Censorship "goes with the tide against what's popular in any given moment," said Jillian York, an expert at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital-rights group. Right now, she said, "that tide is against the speech of right-wing extremists ... but tomorrow the tide might be against opposition activists."
The sliding scale of allowable opinion becomes narrower by the day, and what started small has only snowballed into something larger, and more horrifying as a result.

Whether Team Red or Team Blue, You Determine Your Level of Freedom
l’m not a financial adviser or certified professional. I only do what I feel is right for me, and as someone that has had a unique career path, passive income through investing has allowed me to build wealth and earn reliable cash flow. While administrations come and go, and policies change by the day, ultimately the biggest impact on my financial health and future are the decisions I make regarding my money.
Disagreeing or feeling pessimistic regarding dictates from Washington is no excuse not to take action in your life.
Financial independence and freedom gifts you peace of mind and more options, but entirely depend on you learning, working, and investing in yourself.
Below are links to two investing apps I use personally in order to diversify and expand my portfolio. If you’re new to investing or want to expand your brokerage options, consider looking into them today.

Discussing the Trump Legacy
Once again I joined The World According to Ben Stein to discuss with the panel what the former Trump Administration has left for America, and what we can anticipate with the new administration under President Joe Biden.

How Facebook Attacked One Man’s Business
Between the pandemic lockdowns and the silencing and de-platforming of entire businesses, how can small businesses survive? I talk with Dan Smotz, a podcaster and business owner whose entire Facebook presence was erased without previous flags or warnings as to why. Facebook not only took down his personal profile, show page, and business pages but also that of his wife's business pages as well. Dan explains what has happened since, and I end up doing a live consultation for how small businesses can survive and thrive during these "interesting times."

How to Succeed in Politics (and Other Forms of Devil Worship)
After 15 years of being a loyal iTunes customer, my account was suddenly locked "for security purposes" . My rescue email has apparently been changed to one I don't recognize, and none of my security questions are working. An Apple employee has told me there's nothing I can do other than create a new Apple ID, leaving behind thousands of dollars in music I've purchased over the years. What have I been doing on iTunes the for the last couple of months? Listening to Dennis Miller's podcasts (conservative). I'm thinking that's not a coincidence. I get some bit of satisfaction from the fact that I'm about to buy a new phone...now I don't even have to spend my time considering Apple products.
This is a fantastic article! And, you were right about knowing this was coming. 👍🏼🤠
