Don't Call me "Latinx"
Seriously, it makes you look stupid
Imagine if you and I were friends, and we’ve known each other for a pretty long time. It would be kind of weird if I started walking up to you one day and started calling you a completely different name, and each time you corrected me, I just kept calling you the same name I called you earlier.
Now to make it stranger, when I talk about you behind your back, I’m confusing you with several other people I also know, so when people meet you for the first time, they aren’t just calling you a completely different name, but now they’re thinking they know who you are even though they are thinking of someone else entirely.
Welcome to the “Latinx” debacle- where elitist white liberals are attempting to transform the Hispanic and Spanish heritage community by lumping us all into one giant ethnic, ambiguous, genderless lump. As if Latin-American was vague enough, they had to go and make it “woke.”
That brings me to my current boycott of Marvel Comics going forward, where they aren’t just delivering a pandering ethnic-themed comic out this summer, but had the balls to straight-up call people “Latinx” in a marketing pitch.
