Rates of violent crime in major cities were increasing
Inflation rates were growing
Just because your government is telling you they won’t treat you like a second class citizen for not wearing a mask anymore, doesn’t mean anything has improved over the last two years, they just know they need to redirect your attention to some other controversy to buy time to figure out what to actually do while screwing everything else up.

Now, for the first time in decades, we get to see a real state-on-state military conflict.
We get to see people sleeping in subway tunnels with their pets and children.
We’re seeing crying grandmothers waiting on the streets for their adult children to come and save them.
We’re seeing working-class people flee to other nations where they don’t have friends or family, where they don’t speak the language, only carrying with them the clothes on their backs and what they could hold onto.
The United States is lucky that it has never had to face the threat of warfare and invasion like so much of the world has had to.

There is no “getting off the grid” anymore.
